AhlulBayt News Agency: Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert acknowledged that events unfolding in the West Bank amount to a violent and criminal attempt at ethnic cleansing, revealing that official institutions are involved in covering up settler attacks against Palestinians.
In an article published in the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, Olmert accused the Israeli army, police, and Shin Bet of protecting extremist settlers who carry out attacks such as burning homes, olive groves, and vehicles, as well as assaulting civilians.
He stated that these groups operate with the encouragement and weapons provided by extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben‑Gvir, aiming to force Palestinians to leave in preparation for annexation—actions taking place openly in front of Israeli forces.
Olmert called on the international community to intervene to stop crimes against humanity committed against Palestinians, stressing that the International Criminal Court is now the most likely body to prosecute those responsible, given the failure of the Israeli judicial system to restrain extremists.
